Bicycles and motorbikes can beat high gas prices

Studies have shown that 4o% of trips from home are less than 2 miles.Gas prices are predicted to hit $5 per gallon next month.Does anyone really believe gas will ever go below $3 per gal. again?A quality bicycle can be bought for $200 or less.The exercise a bike will bring is a bonus.Local,state,and federal agencies are adding safe bike lanes to public roads daily.Stop spending at the pump and consider a bicycle.Motorbikes and motorcycles are another option.Mid-size motorcycles get 40+ miles per gallon.Motorbikes get even more.Recreational possibilities for bicycles or motorcycles are cosiderable.Trips from home are necessary but buying gas is not.Bicycles are low cost maintenance,do not need state inspections,do not need required-by-law insurance and do not need to be registered.Initial purchase price is almost only out of pocket cost.I for one am looking at any and all options to stop or at least minimize paying for gas.
